Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) is a reparative technique using low intensity electric currents from a device that baths low energy cells in pure, raw electrical energy. Our bodies are electrical and our cells need a certain amount of electrical charge to work optimally. A mild electrical magnetic current is given to damaged cells increasing blood flow and re-establishing normal cell interaction. PEMF therapy slows or stops the release of pain and reduces inflammation, increases energy, and allows tissues to heal faster. It is most commonly used for the treatment of non-union fractures, failed fusions, chronic pain, and depression.
