Past life regression: what the research says

No reliable studies show past life regression helps with wellbeing needs. Hypnosis can create memories that feel real but are not.

What a session is

A practitioner guides you into a deeply relaxed state, usually with hypnosis, and invites you to explore memories or images you may experience as a past life. Some sessions also revisit earlier memories from this life.

What the research says

More on each need: Feel calmer · Lift your mood · Handle stress better · Sleep better · A relaxed body · Menopause wellbeing · Grief and loss

Is it safe?

Sessions usually use hypnosis, which may not be safe if you have epilepsy, schizophrenia or have had psychosis. Regression can bring up memories that feel real but are not, or that are upsetting, so take care if you have been through trauma. It does not replace mental health care. Sessions on Sissoo complement medical care and never replace it. Please don’t stop or change any treatment without talking to your doctor. If you feel very low or think about ending your life, call your local emergency number now.
