Quantum-Touch: what the research says

No reliable studies show Quantum Touch helps any health problem. Only one small trial exists, in children. Some people find it restful.

What a session is

A practitioner uses focused breathing and body-awareness exercises while resting their hands lightly on or near you, in person or at a distance. Practitioners believe this raises and passes on 'life energy'; science has not shown this energy exists.

What the research says

  • Worry and anxiety: No reliable studies yet. One small trial in children going into hospital found less worry, but it had no fake-session group to compare. No good evidence yet · Journal of Pediatric Nursing, 2025 · NCCIH, 2018
  • Back, neck and muscle tension: Not studied in adults. The same small children's trial found less pain, but without a fake-session group the reason is unclear. No good evidence yet · Journal of Pediatric Nursing, 2025
  • Stress, low mood, sleep, menopause and grief: Not studied in the sources we use. No good evidence yet

More on each need: Feel calmer · A relaxed body · Handle stress better · Lift your mood · Sleep better · Menopause wellbeing · Grief and loss

Is it safe?

No study has checked its safety, though similar energy methods such as Reiki have not been shown to cause harm. Use it alongside, never instead of, care from your doctor, and don't let it delay seeing one. NCCIH, 2018

Sessions on Sissoo complement medical care and never replace it. Please don’t stop or change any treatment without talking to your doctor. If you feel very low or think about ending your life, call your local emergency number now.
